Yoga Classes Melbourne

Yoga Republic

At the beginning of every school term, we commence a new 10 week program of yoga teaching. Yoga Republic classes are planned by Heath and Jo so that there is consistency across every week and every term. Our teaching and class planning makes it suitable for new students to join at any time, while regular attendees are still challenged and develop their practise.

Approaching the first complete 12 months of yoga Republic (Jo’s been doing this for the last decade + down the coast at Bellarine Peninsula Yoga) we will be introducing higher level classes later in 17.

Morning Practise: the sequence of asana is designed to provide a balance of posture with a smooth flow, adjusted to suit the time day. We’ll put some pep in your step and get your breath, body and mind synced for the day ahead.

Technique and application is one of the studios most popular classes. The sequence of postures is directly related to the moving and practises but we add more detail to challenge your body, and your mind.

Yoga is about the integration – union – of our mind and body (and spirit). Our minds have have a bottomless appetite for distraction and can travel anywhere in space and time (childhood memories while driving to work, imagined retirements while feeding the kids) Our teachers challenge you and guide you to harness the mind to the position and movement of your body. It’s engaging and challenging work that our students find rewarding.

Jo is the owner of Bellarine Peninsula Yoga.

Heath Lander

Heath Lander is the owner of White Dog Studio.

Heath is a movement nerd, who particularly loves Pilates, gymnastics and Yoga, which he’s been practicing for 20 years.

He’s on a mission to show people that getting older doesn’t mean you get less strong or less flexible, that you can actually do just as much as you age. It’s not all over once you hit 30.

Restorative/Yin Yoga
(casual/drop in)

We also run a lovely slow paced Yin class on a Sunday.

The key feature of Yin Yoga is long holds in the posture. It’s fantastic for relieving stress and rejuvenating the body. It’s also very accessible, so if you’re not very bendy or you’ve never done yoga before, don’t let this put you off.

You can attend this class on a casual attendance basis.
