Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage Therapy involves direct touch, stretching, mobilisation and cupping techniques to relieve tension, stiffness, aches and pain, as well as helping to address myofascial imbalances in the body. Soft tissue (muscles) and connective tissue (fascia, tendons and ligaments) can be treated.

Hands-on massage is the best-known technique and defining attribute of Remedial Therapy due to its wide recognition and the evidence-based benefits of touch. Regular massage is recommended for recovery or tension relief, as well as mental and physical health and happiness.

“Touch is incredibly powerful, we just don’t give it enough credit… The results are fairly clear that massage boosts your serotonin by as much as 30 percent. Massagealso decreases stress hormones and raises dopamine levels, which helps you create new good habits.”
– Neuroscientist and writer Alex Korb on the benefits of touch andmassage taken from his book The Upward Spiral
